Seismic Performance of SFRC Shear Walls with Window Opening and the Substitution Effect for Steel Bars

Shear walls are important vertical and lateral bearing element in structures. While shear with openings fragile due to stress concentration the quasi-brittle behavior of concrete tension. Therefore, additional strengthening rebars required for openings. However, it aggravates problem dense reinforcement which increases steel cage manufacturing compaction still lacks countermeasures against damage cracking. To reduce rebar demand improve tolerance squat reinforced (RC) openings, an optimized steel-fiber-reinforced (SFRC) was adopted understand seismic performance by cyclical loading test. The tested specimens included a plain RC wall without bar around opening (for comparison), SFRC wall, reduced distributed bar. This paper mainly studies effect using open replace reinforcement. hysteresis curves, skeleton stiffness degradation, capacity degradation energy dissipation were analyzed. results show that failure can be delayed relieved, deformation considerably improve, partially replaced SFRC.
